A pair of unique designed armchairs with "s"-shaped sides over saber legs. Probably workshop of Josef Danhauser. Walnut on pine. Partly padded seatback with spindels and stretcher. Padded arms and padded drop-in seat over baluster supports. Turned stretcher. Horse hair cover. Vienna, circa 1830/35. 18 1/2/37" h, 22 3/4" w, 25" d. Reference: a comparable designed sidechair with "s" shaped sides over saber legs by Josef Danhauser is illustrated at # 111 in his Salescatalog 1820 through circa 1840.
