Extremely rare Biedermeier wedding chest (we have not seen another for more than 40 years in the trade). Walnut-coloured oak (original patina). Bent chest lid. Front veneered with mahogany. Exceptional finely detailed marquetry panels w/ maple and burnt maple depicting urns and baskets with flowers, birds, trees, branches and the bride's name and the year of making "Anna Meier Anno 1866". Original handles, catches, lock. Later feet. Dated 1866.
