Set of 4 Empire armchairs. Ebonized frames probably in mahogany. Fine French giltwood carvings. From a private South German estate where they have been used for generations. Padded seats raised on saberlegs, padded seatbacks. Probably Karlsruhe (South Germany). Early 19th Centrury. 18 1/2" - 36" h, 23" w, 20 1/2" d.
