Magnificent Dutch neo-classical roll-top desk in mahogany on oak (retaining it's original perfectly functional opening/closing mechanism). Three drawer body in the bombe tradition of the Dutch 18th Century designs. Neo-classical inlays (urn, garlands, fillets, multiple hairlines) in maple and ebony. Pierced brass balustrade. Later hardware. Fitted interior with 12 drawers, secret compartments, tambour slide, niches. First half of 19th Century. 33"/50" h, 48 1/2" w, 12"/23 d.
