An important pair of stools attributed to Anton Bembe. Walnut on pine. Lyre-shaped upper part with swollen fluted stretchers, padded drop-in seat. Corresponding lyre-shaped lower part. Palmette woodcarvings, turned swollen stretcher. Mainz (S. Germany), circa 1830/35. 20/23" h, 23" w, 15 1/4" d.
