Magnificently detailed small Italian neo-classic kneehole desk on square-tapered legs. Veneered on all sides for freestanding in geometric pattern with rosewood on pine. Inlaid with fine hairlines, herringbone pattern, rosettes and flower festoons in maple and burned maple. Cross-grain bordered with palisander. 5 drawers with closing mechanism for 2 drawers. Original hardware. 3 drawers originally came with locks which have been removed later. Piemont, early 19th century.
